Ethel Lee Reed was born January 3, 1932, in Waterproof, LA to the late William Curtis and the late Viola Reed of Waterproof, LA. She accepted Christ into her life at an early age. She was a long-time member of Solomon Temple Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. P.N. Sumpter. She served in the church choir, on the Usher board, and also cooked in the kitchen.

Ethel remained in Pittsburg, CA where she was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a legacy to her family and friends and in her past time, she was always in the kitchen cooking those "Big Sunday Dinners".

Ethel moved to Sacramento, CA in the late 90's where she resided until her passing.

On March 14, 2015, our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother departed this life. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Constance Reed and Mary Louis Reed; two brothers: James and Shelba Reed; one daughter, Yolanda Reed; grandson, Willie McGhee, Jr; and three aunts: Lucille and Ruth Meredith and Harriet Davis.
