Annie Lee Britten was born on March 11, 1940, in Bastrop, Texas, to Ninah Mae and Modesta Sanders. She was the eighth of twelve children. Sister Britten accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Willie Clark. She graduated from Mission High School in San Francisco, California and also graduated from Skyline College where she majored in Nursing, and continued that career at the VA Medical Center in Palo Alto, California. She spent 43 years in the Nursing field, caring and helping people in need.

Annie Lee Britten joined Galiliee Baptist Church where she sang in the choir for many years. She joined the New Providence Baptist Church where she worked faithfully as a Missionary Worker and a great Prayer Warrior. She also served on the Mother Board.

Annie married Charlie Britten and to this union 6 children were born - Lavata Pollard, Edward Charles Britten, Linda Saulny, Donald Britten, Michael Britten and Charlie Britten. She leaves a precious sister, Lovie Mae Thompson of Dayton, Ohio, three brothers, Johnny Sanders of Austin, Texas, James Edward Sanders of Houston, Texas, and Charles Sanders of Bastrop, Texas. Sister Britten also leaves to cherish her memory: 22 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, father, mother, four sisters and four brothers.
